The Help You Need

Trauma specific therapy

Therapy aides in processing and healing from traumatic events and the effects it has on the self. I practice from a trauma informed lens utilizing mindfulness practices, EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) modalities.

Managing pornography and sex addiction behaviors

Individual and family therapy aides in addressing the underlying issues related to sexual behaviors that feel unmanageable.

Help for depression and anxiety

Symptoms of depression and anxiety can come up during times of stress and  life changes. Seeking help working through the hard times can be beneficial. I practice a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills as well as a mix of mindfulness, EFT, EMDR and somatic approaches.

Adult and adolescent sexually abusive behaviors treatment

Treatment is aligned with ATSA principles and standards of care. Providing individual, family and group modalities to work through the dynamics of the criminally convicted or non-charged behavior.

Treatment modalities include increasing healthy sexual and social skills, reduction of unhealthy arousal, management of internal and external triggers and increasing internal strengths for offense reduction.

Treatment for adolescents and young adults who have been accused or indicated to have engaged in sexually abusive behaviors is quite different from adult treatment. Treatment is unique to the individual's needs; treatment modalities include psychoeducation, healthy sexual development skills, communication and attachment skill development and increasing strengths for resiliency goals.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is utilized as well as victim impact and trauma informed principles

Partner/Family support for sexual abuse/addiction

Family reunification is individualized to the family needs and wants in regards to addressing the past experiences as well as developing safety and boundary planning for all future contact.

Family safety planning includes creating a safe environment for all members of a household in order to protect further familial abuse.

Services includes development of recommendations for household safety measures and increasing open and transparent dialogue to discuss and empower all family members to feel safe within the home.

I offer individual clinical licensure supervision for clinicians seeking LPC hours. Supervision includes case consultation, teaching skills related to trauma and sexual abuse and resource referrals

Psychosexual risk and needs assessment

Risk and needs assessments can be performed pre-conviction/adjudication or following a conviction to determine treatment and supervision needs.

Risk and needs assessments can be performed pre-conviction/adjudication or following a conviction to determine treatment and supervision needs.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences.  Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal.  EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma.
